The UK military have been using our ROVs since 2008 when Atlantas first delivered three VideoRay Pro 3 GTO systems. The last 7 years have seen several Pro 4 sales to the UK and Irish Navys along with an Ocean Modules V8 M500 for the MASTT trials team in Portsmouth.
Originally delivered in 2013 with a Cobra mine disposal system, the V8 has since been upgraded with low light cameras and a Doppler Velocity Log (DVL). We have recently completed on-site training at the RN base in Portsmouth for the latest round of upgrades; a Hydrolek Manipulator and Ocean Modules Spot.On software.
Spot.On is a powerful survey management tool which allows synchronised recording of all ROV survey data (video/sonar /position/serial data). All data sources are played back simultaneously, and attention points allow you to easily jump to relevant parts of the recording. Finally Spot.on can auto-generate a Microsoft word report containing details of each attention point and all relevant sonar and video screenshots.
Lieutenant Commander Jack McWilliams, the officer in command of MASTT, said: “This technology is fantastic, and we are right at the forefront of it. It is the future.”
