VideoRay Operator Training Completed for UK Police & Customs

Following earlier sales to the North-West Police, and Hampshire Police, Atlantas Marine are delighted to announce the sale of a VideoRay Pro 4 Plus to Humberside Police.  We delivered the system with Gemini multibeam sonar and a manipulator making it an invaluable underwater search and recovery tool.

The multibeam imaging sonar provides real time high resolution images in low visibility water, making it an ideal system for underwater body searches. The VideoRay Pro 4 integrated control box allows the ROV and sonar to be controlled, viewed and recorded all from a single 1550 peli case, keeping the system truly portable.

Our resident support engineer and ROV pilot, Mark Salter, completed the training at Humberside Marine Unit’s base in February 2015.

This year also saw delivery of a VideoRay Pro 4 with BlueView sonar and hull crawler to the UK border force, with 2 days of training completed at our local training facilities in Somerset. This equipment will push forward their shiphull inspection capability and provide another valuable tool in the policing of UK borders.

Cdr Colin McAuslan commented – “A quick note to say thank you for the training you gave the team. They all thoroughly enjoyed it a learned a great deal. We used the ROV yesterday for the first time in anger at Falmouth Bay on a ship in from S.America and all went well - nothing found but more invaluable experience for the operators.“
