The Atlantas Marine Typhoon is a next-generation launch and recovery latch, engineered for observation-class ROVs working in offshore environments. Its tether-guided design delivers safer, faster and more controlled handling — built from 316 stainless steel with a lightweight titanium bullet for marine longevity and minimal drag.
With both automatic and manual launch modes, replaceable internal components and a proven safety factor of two, Typhoon takes the risk and friction out of every deployment. Designed by operators who use it in the field, it’s the smarter way to launch and recover ROVs up to 500kg – from routine inspection work to demanding offshore campaigns across renewables, defence, nuclear and infrastructure.

Why choose the Typhoon
Typhoon turns one of the riskiest moments of any ROV job, launch and recovery, into a controlled, repeatable operation. Built by operators, tested in the field and certified for marine service, it gives crews a faster, safer way to get observation-class ROVs in and out of the water, in any sea state.
Take the Risk Out of Launch and Recovery
With both automatic and manual launch modes and an internal fail-safe, Typhoon puts the operator in full control of every release. It removes the need for divers, prevents premature disengagement and keeps handling predictable even when sea state and deck movement are working against you.
Mobilise Quickly and Deploy Without Snags
Compact, lightweight and supplied with everything needed to deploy, Typhoon mobilises anywhere in the world without the burden of containerised systems. Its tether-guided design keeps lines smooth and snag-free through every launch and recover, cutting out the moments most likely to cost time on deck.
Built for Marine Service, Designed by Operators
Constructed from 316 stainless steel with a titanium bullet, Typhoon is engineered for long working life in corrosive marine environments. Tested to twice its working load and built around real operational experience, it reflects what a working ROV team actually needs from launch and recovery kit… not what looks good on paper.
Typhoon pairs operator-led design with marine-grade construction to deliver controlled, repeatable launch and recovery for observation-class ROVs. From snag-free tether handling to certified loads and serviceable internals, every feature has been shaped by real subsea operations, not just the drawing board.

A guided latch and bullet system keeps the tether under control through every launch and recovery, removing the snags, kinks and unwanted swing that cost time on deck.

Switch between automatic and manual release to suit sea state, obstructions and operator preference — putting the crew in full control of every deployment.

A sprung internal latch holds the bullet securely until the operator chooses to release it, preventing premature disengagement in heavy swell or restricted launch points.

A 316 stainless steel body paired with a titanium bullet is engineered for corrosion resistance, durability and a long working life in demanding offshore environments.

Light enough to ship as part of routine project kit, Typhoon mobilises anywhere in the world without the cost and lead time of containerised launch and recovery systems.

Field-serviceable parts and dedicated Standard or Advanced spares kits keep Typhoon working hard year after year, with minimal time out of service.

Designed to DNV standards and load-tested to twice the working limit — supplied UKCA and CE approved, with construction aligned to IMCA and Lloyd's Register expectations.

Launch and recovery you can trust, wherever you deploy
Typhoon is built around the realities of working offshore. Marine-grade materials, operator-friendly controls and an inbuilt fail-safe give crews complete confidence in every launch and recovery, from a calm harbour to a moving deck in heavy swell.
316 Stainless Steel Latch Body: Corrosion-resistant body built for long offshore service life.
Tether Guide: Keeps the tether under control — no snags, no swing.
Internal Fail-Safe Mechanism: Sprung latch prevents premature release in heavy swell.
Manual Release Line: 20m release line gives full operator control over disengagement.
Titanium Bullet: Lightweight, low-drag bullet. Supports 500 kg WLL
Dyneema Strop: High-strength, low-stretch link between bullet and ROV.
Simple Open-and-Close Action: Pin-and-clip locking means rapid deck setup, every time
